I originally reviewed Dropico last year, when it was a cool concept that unfortunately, didn’t function as intended. I’m reviewing it again because I got a request from the developers to do so, and because when I checked it out, it has so many cool new features that it’s almost a different app.
Dropico is an app that allows you to manage your photo collections on your computer and a variety of different social networks from one central location using a handy drag-and-drop interface. So, for example, if you want to move pictures over to Facebook from your poor abandoned MySpace account, you can use Dropico to drag them from your MySpace album into the appropriate Facebook album. Last time I tested this feature out, it only worked some of time. This time, everything went flawlessly.
Also, you can now email photos you take with your cellphone to a special email address that puts them in your Dropico account. You don’t need a smart phone for this in most cases-just send it like a picture message using the email address instead of a phone number.
Finally, Dropico’s integration with Pixlr means you can edit your pictures right from your photo albums and then save them.
Dropico’s definitely a useful application, and I’m glad to see it’s finally ready for primetime. What do you think of it?
