Tabzon is a handy app that lets you see what everyone in your office is doing. Need to ask a question but don’t want to interrupt or be intrusive? Check the person’s status in Tabzon, and you can easily see whether or not it’s a good time to drop in.
Tabzon is super-easy to set up and use. It only takes a minute to sign up, and inviting other employees is as easy as sending an email. You can save contact details for each employee, and save frequently used statuses as “quick clicks.” Changing your status is a one-click process.
Because the site is so simple, it loads quickly on mobile phones, so you can update your status and check other people’s statuses on any phone with an internet connection. Twitter integration or the ability to change status via SMS would be a great addition to the service.
Tabzon seems like it would be quite useful for offices that need an internal system to track what each employee is up to. An instant message service could serve the same function and would be usable on cell phones without Internet plans, but then you have to trust that your employees won’t get sucked it to productivity-killing IM chats with friends. Tabzon takes care of that issue.
