You may be familiar with Freecycle, an online service that lets you post items you are willing to give away for free so that others can claim them. Freecycle is a great way to find stuff you need at the best possible price-my father-in-law once used it to find a free working refrigerator for me and my husband.
Freally takes the Freecycle concept and updates it. It is much faster and easier to use-it literally takes about 15 seconds to sign up, and unlike Freecycle, which is run as a Yahoo Group, you don’t need a Yahoo email address.
Once you’re signed up, you can offer items, post items that you need, and see what’s available in your area on a map. Freally supports uploading pictures, so other people can see what your item looks like. You can also share your listed items on Twitter and Facebook.
Another feature that makes Freally far superior to Freecycle is how easy it is to track the availability of an item. On Freecycle, someone posts a listing for an item, and then posts a second listing with the headline “taken” to indicate that the item is taken. So, once you find something you want, you then have to scan the listings again to make sure it hasn’t been taken.
On Freally, all you have to do is click on the item and it shows the status. Nice!
Unfortunately, for Freally to really become useful, it needs more users. So, if you’re on Freecycle, why not make the switch and convince others to do so, too?

I just checked it out, not bad. I agree though, needs some users to get ‘er going. Perhaps a little more explanation on the homepage would do wonders as well. Thanks for the post, another uber usefultool!
I think everybody just needs to ditch Freecycle for Freally, personally, but I fear a lot of Freecycle members won’t want to abandon the Freecycle community, even for something easier to use.
