Keep Track of Your Business

1daylater

Whether you freelance or run your own small business, tracking your time and expenses is super-important. Naturally, there’s no shortage of apps available to help, but 1DayLater stands out nonetheless.

Although it’s still in beta and some of the features aren’t ready yet, 1DayLater looks really promising.  The user interface is attractive and well-designed-navigation is a breeze, and logging a piece of information takes all of 10 seconds. Currently, 1DayLater can track the time you spend on specific projects or clients, your mileage, and your expenses. An integrated timer makes it easy to track time, and you can add new clients and start logging information for them in one simple step.

After you’ve used it for a while, 1DayLater can also analyze the information you’ve entered to create lovely graphs that help you visualize how you have been spending your time.  You can also export your data into spreadsheets. Even better, all of the data you log is searchable, so you can stay organized by including the appropriate keywords in your notes.

Soon, 1DayLater will integrate with other helpful applications, like SageCRM and Outlook, as well as offering invoicing functions and mobile phone access.  According to the 1DayLater blog, they’ll also add a “time recovery tool” to help you find ways to save time.  I’m l0oking forward to it!

1DayLater is free for the moment, but will move to a “freemium” model in the future.  It’s already quite useful for freelancers like me, and I wouldn’t mind paying a reasonable price for the features they intend to add.

What do you think of 1DayLater?

  10. I’ve been using the beta for a while and am finding it really useful.

It’s already given me a great insight into how efficiently i’m using my time, and what i spend, my day, week and month doing.

The big advange of 1daylater it is really simple, with only a couple of field to fill in for any given task, it doesn’t take much keeping it updated. But at the same time the excellent graphical representations and search features make it quite powerful tool.

    Well worth giving a go.

  11. I’m really interested in this tool for mileage tracking and claims. It would be useful to track the financial and time trends in my business to maximise both value for money and time.
A tool with great potential in itself, and further almost unlimited potential for growth into the business analysis arena.

  14. Hey guys

Loving the article and your writing style – would it be OK if we take some of your text and edit it for our homepage blurb? We spend so much time with coding and other business stuff it’s nice to take a shortcut – snappy copy is not really our forte!

    Kudos, and thanks!

    • Hi David,

      Awww….thanks. I’m blushing! :)

Yes, that’s fine. Thanks for asking.

    • Yay! The new blurb is up and on the homepage – cheers Alison, you’re a legend!
