Organize Email Discussions

Everyone has had to face a monster email thread before. You know the type…it goes on too long, includes too many people, and before long it becomes incredibly time-consuming to keep track of who said what.

Cc: Betty is one of the easiest ways to tame a monster email thread. As the name implies, all you have to do is CC the service when you start an email conversation, and Cc:Betty creates a “mailspace page” to keep the thread organized and easy to follow. Betty then emails you and everyone else on the thread a link to the discussion page.

The cool thing about Cc:Betty is that the participants in the conversation don’t need a Cc:Betty account to use the service.  They can choose to go view the discussion page and set up an account to respond there, or they can keep responding via email-as long as Betty is cc’d, the replies will show up on the mailspace page.

Betty can organize files, pictures and links from the emails as well. However, she isn’t good at recognizing email signatures, so if your email signature includes links and images, those will end up being categorized right  along with the documents sent with the emails.

Cc:Betty also features Twitter integration, so you can reply to discussions via Twitter.

Cc:Betty isn’t as powerful at organizing conversations as tools like Zenbe’s Shareflow. It’s main advantage is how incredibly easy it is to start a discussion and keep it going. And of course, the fact that it’s free.

Do you use Cc:Betty? What do you think of it?
