YouMicro is a website for user-created audio files. The site is similar to Muziboo in that you can upload your own music, share it with others and let them listen to it and critique it. However, the site isn’t just for music-audio files of people reading stories and poetry, giving speeches, having debates, etc are also available.
Whether or not you upload any files of your own, you can use YouMicro to discover and listen to new music by looking at the most popular audio files or searching for files with specific tags. However, I do think it would be easier to navigate the site if you could click on tags to see other files with the same tags-as it stands now, all you can do is search for a tag.
Uploading a file is easy-all you have to do is enter in the appropriate tags and upload it from your computer. You can upload single files or entire albums. Artists can also use YouMicro to announce shows. However, unlike Muziboo, you cannot record online using YouMicro.
Honestly, if you are a musician, Muziboo seems like a better bet than YouMicro. Not only can you record online, you can also have other community members critique your songs. YouMicro has an option to rate tracks, but not to provide detailed feedback that the artists can use to improve.
