Since Twitter rolled out its new lists feature last month, Twitter users have been on a list-making frenzy. Lists are a great way to filter some of the noise from Twitter, providing functionality that previously was available only fr0m third-party apps.
Listiti is an ingenious way to combine Twitter lists with keyword monitoring. Here’s how it works: You choose a Twitter list to monitor and a keyword or topic. Then, every hour, Listiti checks your list for you and sends you an email alert if someone on the list tweets about you keyword.
Listiti is an easy way to monitor Twitter for mentions of a specific topic, without having to wade through a bunch of spam tweets or tweets from people you aren’t interested in following. It’s super-easy to set up an alert-you don’t have to register or sign up for anything, just enter in the list you want to follow, the keywords you are interested in, and your email address.
After that, all you have to do is check your email and click the verification link to start receiving alerts. One thing I would like to see is the ability to monitor more than one Twitter list for a single keyword or topic, instead of having to monitor (and receive separate email alerts for) each list individually.
However, the reply/retweet links in the emails you receive are a nice touch.
Honestly, even though I loved the quick sign-up, I would gladly have registered at Listiti if it meant that I could set up multiple alerts and have them all delivered in the same email.
Still, for an app that, according to the FAQ’s, was created in about 24 hours, I think Listiti is pretty useful. What do you think of it?
