My love for trivia games goes back to childhood….probably because it was the only time my nerdiness was an advantage instead of a handicap. I was an epic failure at soccerball, tetherball was downright dangerous, and we won’t even talk about dodgeball. But trivia games? I ruled at those!
If I had an iPhone, I’d definitely invest .99 in Triviaburst, a trivia game that lets you compete with friends and family (as long as they also have iPhones). In Triviaburst, you compete by answering a series of trivia questions, with points awarded for accuracy and speed. To make sure your encyclopedic knowledge of inconsequential things get noticed, you can set up groups and challenge other players.
Once you’ve beaten someone, Triviaburst uses push notifications to tell you when they’ve managed to beat your score, so that you can back and reclaim your rightful place on top of the leaderboard. You can also connect your Triviaburst account to your Facebook account to show off your high scores.
There are approximately 5,500 questions on Triviaburst, and you can add to the pool by submitting your own. There is a flagging system to let you flag inaccurate user-submitted questions. However, questions don’t appear to get fact-checked until they get flagged, so there is a strong possibility that not all of the answers in the system are accurate.
One nice feature of Triviaburst is that it employs a special algorithm to reduce the chance of repeat questions. However, user reviews of the app in the iPhone store indicate that this feature needs some improvement-a number of people complained of receiving repeat questions.
Overall, I think Triviaburst looks like a lot of fun. What do you think of it?

I have been playing this game for about 2 months now and it’s truly an amazing trivia game on my iPhone. My brother has an iPod Touch and he competes with me for higher points. Very addicting to say the least
