Trying to schedule a meeting between 2 busy people can be a chaotic process. Add more people into the mix, and it can be really hard to find a time that works for everyone-unless you’re using Tungle. Tungle is an app that syncs with your  calendar and makes scheduling meetings easier.

To use Tungle, you simply select meeting times that work for you and select the people you want to be at the meeting from your contacts list. Tungle sends an email showing all of your available times, and then your contacts can select the times when they are available, too. Once the final meeting time has been determined, everyone gets notified and it shows up on your calendar.

There are other scheduling apps out there, including Timebridge and Doodle.  Tungle has some nifty added features, though, like automatically adjusting times to match your invitee’s timezones. If something comes up after you send the invite out and you have to schedule an event for one of the time slots you indicated was open, Tungle will automatically update your available times, as well.

Tungle syncs with Outlook, GCalendar, Apple iCal and Entourage.  Another nice thing about the app is that the people you invite to your meetings don’t have to sign up for Tungle to use it. You also get a personal URL that you can share with other people so that they’ll know when you’re free and when you’re busy.  Plus, you can share your calendar via social networking sites like Facebook, Linkedin and Ning.  And yes, Virginia, there is an iPhone app, too!

Your public Tungle Calendar only shows free time  vs busy time, not the details of what you’re doing…so if you have an appointment to get your hairy back waxed from 5 to 6 pm, people will know that you’re busy during that time period but not that you have body hair issues.
