Back in June, I reviewed LiveTask, an app that helps you remotely manage a team of employees from your computer.  LiveTask makes it easy to keep everyone on schedule, especially if your team members have GPS-enabled cell phones.

You can use LiveTask to locate employees, schedule tasks for them, and communicate with both employees and customers.  Employees can update you on their progress and inform you of any delays from the field, simply by using their  cell phones  to send the information to Livetask.

When I reviewed Livetask the first time, I noted that the app’s user interface was kind of hard to figure out, especially since the instructions were written either in French or in poorly translated English.  Recently, the LiveTask team released a “new and improved” version of the app and requested that I take another look at it.

I really like the improvements they have made. The UI is both more attractive and easier to navigate. They’ve added a Facebook-like “wall” that shows a feed of the most recent actions taken by team members and contacts, so you can see new developments at a glance, as soon as you log in.

Tasks are color-coded to indicate their status: blue for new, green for started, yellow for closed and red for canceled.  Incidents can be added and closed easily as well, both from the computer and from your mobile phone.

Also, the English instructions have been rewritten to be much clearer and easy to understand. LiveTask’s new version is definitely an improvement that makes it even more useful to business owners who need to manage a team of employees.
