It’s no secret that viewers are more likely to come back to your website if you are able to communicate with them and let them know what’s going on. Many sites rely on email newsletters, RSS feeds and Twitter to keep in touch with their readers. Conduit offers an even more powerful tool to keep you connected to your readers: a downloadable toolbar that helps you push new content through to them no matter where they are on the web.
The advantages of using Conduit to promote your site are clear-notifications and RSS feeds can be delivered directly to your readers, even when they are browsing another site. They don’t have to open an email or log into Twitter at the right time for you to reach them.
But what about your readers? Other than easy access to your content, what do they get out of downloading and installing yet another toolbar? I don’t know about you, but I already have enough toolbars taking up screen real estate, thank you very much!
Fortunately, Conduit provides the tools you need to design a custom toolbar that isn’t all about you and your site. You can include fun and helpful gadgets like games, RSS feeds from different sites, Facebook widgets that let your users easily access their Facebook accounts. and more. You can also create your own application or widget and add it to the toolbar. If you create a toolbar that your readers will find useful, they are more likely to download it.
Conduit is easy to use, if you aren’t particularly tech-savvy. You don’t have to write even a single line of code-just choose which components you want for your toolbar, and Conduit creates and hosts a download page that you can link to on your site. Conduit also has a marketplace that allows you to add content created by other users to your toolbar and to share your own content.
What do you think of Conduit? And what features would your ideal custom toolbar include? Let us know in the comments!

Conduit: Custom Toolbars for Your Website http://bit.ly/3g8bLm
Great review but what exactly is the business model here?
How do these guys make money?
Do they send ads via the toolbar? Interested in creating a toolbar for our readers but don’t want them to get hit on.
Thoughts?
They have a partnership with Google and Google Search is standard on every toolbar. I don’t believe they send ads-at least, I didn’t notice any ads when I installed one of the toolbars to test it out.
