Paper or plastic? Apples or oranges? To-may-to or to-mah-to? Everyone has an opinion. That’s why polls and surveys are such a great way to interact with your online community.
PollDaddy makes creating online polls and surveys ridiculously simple. All you have to do is sign up, enter in the question you want to ask and the options you want people to vote on, choose a skin for your poll (or custom-build your own), grab the code and paste into your website. PollDaddy also has a MySpace app and uses easy short codes for WordPress.
Your polls, and the results, are stored in your account so that you can easily view them later. You also have the opportunity to create a public PollDaddy profile and link it to your social networking accounts.
What about Twitter? PollDaddy for Twitter lets you create a poll and post a link to Twitter in 3 easy steps: set up the question and the answers, enter your username and password, and hit “Send.” The only complaint I have about PollDaddy for Twitter is that it requires your username and password instead of using OAuth.
PollDaddy’s user interface is excellent-attractive, easy to navigate and functional. The free account is more than adequate for most people, but the service also scales up well for large businesses. There are a plethora of websites and tools that allow you to create polls and surveys online, but PollDaddy is a cut above the rest, and definitely the most useful of the bunch.
So, would you like to take a survey?
