Which US politician is the most influential? And what are social media users saying about the people who lead our country? Find out with Sound-Off, a new app from BOALT. *
This app ranks the “social influence” of 6 important figures in US politics: President Barack Obama, Sarah Palin, Hillary Clinton, Michelle Obama, Vice President Joe Biden and Senator John McCain. President Obama is the most influential of the group. Senator McCain will perhaps be displeased to note that Sarah Palin outranks him in influence, with a score of 379 to his 49.
In the middle panel, you can watch a feed of tweets about the politicians. Many of the tweets are news stories, of course. I wish the links in the tweets were clickable, but it’s interesting all the same. Calculating social influence via Twitter is the Next Big Thing in social media, and BOALT packages its product in a beautiful, well-designed user interface. It’s also a useful way to see what people are saying about our politicians and maybe to catch up on political news, as well.
They’ve also included a little surprise for anyone inquisitive enough to click the tab on the right-hand side of the page. No, I’m not going to spoil it. Go visit the site and see for yourself!
***Disclosure- BOALT is the parent company of Useful Tools.
