Planning a party the old-fashioned way is a pain. First, you have to buy invitations. Then, you have to make sure you have a current address for everyone you want to invite, fill out said invitations, buy stamps, remember to put the invitations in the mailbox in a timely fashion and then keep track of who actually plans on showing up. Who feels like partying after all of that hassle?
Anyvite makes planning an event infinitely easier. You can custom-design an invitation, send it out to your friends via email, IM or text message, and Anyvite automatically keeps track of the responses for you. These are the basic features, which are great for anyone planning a party. However, for the social butterflies among us, Anyvite also includes more advanced features, like being able to subscribe to an RSS feed for your events and invitations, and being able to include a widget on your website or blog.
Oh, and of course, you can share invitations via Facebook and Twitter. Anyvite’s broad range of features make it suitable for everything from throwing a simple baby shower to planning the next party of the century. The premium features they have in the pipeline should make it attractive to professional event planners and party promoters, as well. The user interface is sharp, well-designed and intuitive. They have a range of invitation designs available, or you can create your own. The only thing they don’t offer that I wish they had is an option to print and mail some of the invitations. I still have a few family members that prefer to receive invites by snail mail.
Aside from that, this is well-designed, useful application that I plan on using next time I have an event to organize.
