MailChimp is a service that helps you create and manage email campaigns with ease. With MailChimp, you get cool email templates, the ability to store and manage your mailing lists, code for a “subscribe” form that you can place in your website, and reports that track which messages were opened and analyze your campaign’s performance. All of this, and a cheeky little monkey at the top of the screen to amuse you with random, funny comments while you work!
Mailchimp’s analytics program tracks each and every email you send out, letting you know which of the nice people on your mailing list opened your emails, who responded, who forwarded them to other people, and who tossed them into their virtual trash can. It can also compare the performance of different email campaigns, so you can see what’s working and what’s not working.
MailChimp offers three different types of plans. There is a limited free plan for email campaigns with less than 100 subscribers. The Pay as You Go plans range from 3 cents to .5 cents per email, and monthly plans range from 10 to 200 dollars per month. The user interface is easy as pie to use, too.
