Do you have an announcement to make? ShoutNow is a nifty app that lets you send a recorded voice message to a bunch of different people at once. The cool thing about ShoutNow is its simplicity. Here’s how it works: enter in your phone number, and ShoutNow will call you to record your voice message. Then, you can enter in the phone numbers you want the message delivered to. Finally, you’ll pay a small fee based on the length of your message and the number of recipients, and wait for your message to be delivered.
ShoutNow makes delivering voice messages almost as fast as texting, and it’s great for sending messages to groups that include people with landlines and your grandma, who wouldn’t know what to do with a text if she got one.
ShoutNow is already a handy service, and they plan to become to expand it in the future. They recently released an Iphone app that lets you record and send free shouts to a Public Timeline via your Iphone. The app can also be used to update your Twitter status-just enter your Twitter login info and it will send a tweet on your account with a link to your shout in your Public Timeline.
There are other voice messaging services out there-Mashable ran a post in December that compared some of the different options. ShoutNow’s advantage is its easy set up with no advertisements. It’s great for spur-of-the-moment announcements to large groups of people. If they make the improvements that their website says are in the pipeline (Facebook integration, importing contacts, etc), it will get even better.
